Unapologetic
not as a phase
not as a trend
but as a pulse I refuse to quiet
Unapologetic
when I walk into a room
that wasn’t built with me in mind
and still somehow
I am the architecture
Unapologetic
for the volume of my joy
for the way my laughter
refuses to ask permission
before it fills the air
I spent years
translating myself
into something more acceptable
more digestible
more quiet
But Unapologetic
is what happens
when survival turns into arrival
Unapologetic
when I say my name
and don’t soften the edges
when I tell my story
and don’t skip the hard parts
to make it easier
for someone else to hear
Unapologetic
in the becoming
because becoming is messy
loud
uncomfortable
It stretches you past
who they said you were
into who you’ve always been
trying to reach
Unapologetic
for the evolution
for the shedding
for the sacred act
of outgrowing expectations
that never fit right anyway
Unapologetic
when I take up space
in places that tried
to make me small
I am done shrinking
to fit inside conversations
that were never meant
to hold me
Unapologetic
for who I love
not hidden
not whispered
not explained away
like a side note in my own life
No
Unapologetic
like breath
like heartbeat
like something so essential
it refuses to be denied
The kind of love
that shows up
and says
I am here
and I am not leaving
Unapologetic
in the way I stand
in my own skin
like it finally belongs to me
Because it does
Unapologetic
for the journey
for every version of me
that bent but did not break
that questioned
that wandered
that kept going
even when the path
wasn’t clear
Unapologetic
for the now
Right here
right here
where I stop asking
if I am too much
and start knowing
I was never enough
for spaces that demanded
I be less
So I rise
Unapologetic
in my voice
in my body
in my becoming
in my love
Unapologetic
not because it’s easy
but because it’s necessary
Unapologetic
not because the world agrees
but because I do
Unapologetic
and finally
free enough
to be
everything
I was always meant
to be
