We were angry, so we created.

hankycode magazine was created in 2025 after the Trump administration took over. After publishing a GLAAAD nominated project prior, we knew it was more important to document queer history now than ever.

Made by queer people for queer people, we refuse to hide in a time where the world so desperately wants us to. We refuse to let our history die.

MISSION:
To showcase queer history
and art as it was and as it is today.
VISION:
An educated society that accepts and uplifts the LGBTQIA+ community.

We’re a print and digital publication that refuses to ignore LGBTQIA+ history and culture.

The founders and volunteers dedicated to making change.
